"I haven't even put the icing on yet, but this cake is amazing!!!! I used a mini-bundt cake pan, makes 6 small, individual cakes. I was removing them from the pan, when one got stuck. A piece was left in the pan just for me to sample. :

"This was delicious & intensely flavored as stated. First time I made exactly as stated, but the second time around I used small garlic cloves, 1/4 teas. black pepper, and a little less lemon juice. This is the perfect amount of heat & flavor for my taste.
I love to toss in some sauteed spinach at the end.

"This recipes is true to it's name! So delicious!
I didn't have buttermilk, so I squeezed 1 1/2 teaspoons of fresh lemon juice in a measuring cup & poured enough 2% milk in to equal 1 1/2 cups of "improvised buttermilk". Stirred & let it sit for 5 minutes.
