"My second attempt at making red velvet cake and this one was successful (the first one was too dry. I made it for a fund raiser bake sale so I wanted it to be just right. I heeded one commentor's advice to reduce the oil so instead of 2 cups, I added only 1-1/2 cups and the cake seemed moist. Next time I will experiment and make up the missing..."

"Great recipe! Did not use coconut. Simply added 2 cups of cool whip and it was just right. Will use this one regularly from now on."

"My first red velvet cake to take to work. Liked the color and added strawberry halves on top of the frosting. Looked great! But, I was disappointed - it was too dry. Everyone agreed. Also, the receipe didn't specify what type of vinegar to use (I used apple cider but later noticed another recipe that specified white vinegar. Compared this recip..."

"Hi Kittencal. I made this for my family while visiting, along with a Cranberry-Fruit Coleslaw, and it was fabulous. Easy to make too. Halibut is quite expensive for a family of 6, but it was worth it to see everyone enjoy it."

"Very good! The sauce portion of recipe was made exact, but to the 'goodies' ingrediants I added mini corn cobs, broccilli florets, red bell pepper chunks, green onions and because I was out of noodles, used shredded cabbage. This is the kind of recipe you can add whatever 'goodies' you like and it's still great. You could even make double the s..."

"Excellent! Even with my errors this dish is great! Added two crushed garlic cloves and some copped fresh chives to butter mixture and sauted a little before adding milk. The crust over the Halibut is great. Thanks for a great recipe!"

"I enjoy using buttermilk and we do like this but first felt it needed an extra something. I added some sliced black olives, celery and apple sausage - it was pretty good. Tonight my husband added a small amt of horseradish and he said, "perfect!" I will make it again but add our little touches."
