"Very quick and easy to make. It has a more complex and richer taste than the bottled variety available on grocery shelves. I used high-quality chipotle powder from my local co-op, that probably made a positive difference."

"I made this with chopped slivered almonds instead of pecans. Next time I will add some amaretto or almond flavor to add interest.

I found the recipe to be overly sweet. The combination of the sweet cherry pie filling and sugary cake mix is overwhelming. Next time I will make the cake part by scratch and eliminate much of the sugar.

"A great loaf! Rises very nicely and is light. I didn't have sunflower seeds, and substituted 2 tablespoons of 8-grain cereal. I added 1 1/2 teaspoons of caraway seed. I used real pumpernickel flour from my local co-op ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pumpernickel instead of the plain rye flour specific in the recipe. The mixture was dry, so I adde..."

"Very good, beautiful color. Actually quite mild in flavor. Next time I will add more cumin.I made the rice the conventional stove-top way with a 2:1 water-to-rice ratio. I haven't made rice in the microwave before, and didn't want to take chances. I made it without the pine nuts, almonds, and the raisins because I didn't have any available. I ..."

"Best whole wheat recipe I've tried so far in my bread machine. Excellent texture and color, very nicely browned, doesn't crumble when sliced. It rose nicely, almost reaching the top of the 2 lb.-machine interior. I omitted the lecithin, because it is so expensive, with excellent results. Vitamin C powder is a nice addition for the vitamin factor, ..."

"Great recipe! There are two ways to think of these cookies: As festive holiday cookies, or as healthy year-round oatmeal cookies. Ingredient proportions are correct, lemon glaze adds "zing." Highly recommended."

"Easy recipe, proportions are correct. Just the right size for a large (2-lb. machine. I varied the recipe by adding the following: 4 teaspoons of flour gluten, and I used 2 cups of unbleached flour and 1/2 cup of rye flour to produce a delicious light rye version. This recipe is becoming a classic in my family. I've passed it on to others who are..."
