"Served these to a group of teenage girls who seemed to enjoy them very much. I made the dough into two rounds and cut them into eight pieces. After a test run, we decided that separating the scones was preferable to leaving them intact after cutting. We loved the crunchy exterior. My oven runs hot so I baked them at 380 degrees and added a few..."

"Excellent. Made this without ham or butter and added an extra egg. My family enjoyed it very much with fruit for dinner. Will definitely make this again."

"This recipe is almost identical to one in a Pillsbury cook book. I made it using 1 1/2 cups of sugar per the Pillsbury recipe. Also, I replaced half of the shortening with butter. "This was quick and easy. Used cheddar instead of American cheese and served it with egg noodles. My kids gave it 5 stars. Next time I'll add mushrooms since I didn't have any tonight. Thanks!"

"Even with some healthy changes, this cake is moist and delicious. I decreased the sugar to 11/2 cups and used 2/3 cups of ww flour in place of some white flour. Baked in a bundt pan and glazed with cream cheese frosting. My family loved it."

"We really liked these. Even with equal amounts of whole wheat pastry flour and white flour, they were light and fluffy. Perfect sweetness and a lovely hint of spice. Thank you for posting."

"This was perfect in every way. The directions were clear, the cake was easy to roll and fill, and it tasted great. I sprinkled the towel with confectioner's sugar instead of granulated as another reviewer suggested. I filled the cake with real whipped cream and frosted it with a chocolate buttercream frosting. Everyone enjoyed it tremendously. ..."

"Nothing fancy, but a great, easy week-night meal. Thrilled to be able to make this a bit healthier for my husband who was raised on HH. Easy and tasty without all the chemicals. Thanks."

"My family really enjoyed this. I did make a few minor changes. I used 1/2 tsp each of vanilla and almond extracts and added a crumb topping (sugar, flour, butter instead of almonds. I also omitted the icing. I'd like to try doubling it as it didn't last very long in a family of five."
