"Very good sauce. I cut the sugar in half as I did not want a overly sweet and syrupy sauce. Added more ginger and more lemon juice to make a lighter and looser sauce. My only added ingredient was a finely minced small shallot.
Served with green beans almondine and a baked potato. Excellent.

"Very tasty, simple and quick to prepare. All of the spices come together in an excellent sauce. Put some over the rice as well. I had no chick peas and didn't miss them! Also added some dried cranberry to the raisins. Top with toasted pecans or almonds."
The ricotta adds so much to the overall flavor and texture of the dish.
I used a sweet red pepper instead of green. Also, added more cayenne pepper for a bit of a kick!
Would also make a great casserole with chopped up eggplant instead of stuffing the shells.
