"I actually have not made this but I have stayed at the Chalfonte and eaten it there many times! I grew up visiting in the 1980s and we were actually there in 1986. The Magnolia Room is my favorite restaurant in my favorite hotel in all the world. A wonderful place I hope you have the opportunity to visit someday. Thank you so much for the reci..."

"Wonderful! This is very similar to an old recipe I have called Matrimonial Diamonds. Mine only calls for lemon juice and lemon zest, though, so I love the addition of orange juice! These are old-fashioned but oh-so-delicious. I definitely recommend using the full pound of dates for moistness and flavor. Thanks, Gerry!"

"Fabulous! I used green onions instead of red, 1/2 olive oil and 1/2 vegetable oil, and a little extra sugar and lime juice b/c my red wine vinegar was quite sour. I subbed 1 small can of Ro-tel for the tomato and jalapeno, added a couple of dashes of hot sauce, and used the combination of cilantro, parsley and basil for the herbs. I also "grill..."

"Seriously great. Have made this several times since I read your awesome recipe and had forgotten to rate it. My kids even ate the crusts and that never happens!"

"We really enjoyed this! I only had 1 lb of kielbasa, so I halved the rest of the ingredients (so as to have more sauce to serve over rice and added one small chopped green pepper. Left the cover off for the last 15 minutes to reduce the liquid a bit. Everyone ate it up! Thank you so much for an easy, tasty recipe!"

"Really loved these! I used my old Ekco Easter egg cake pan (like a muffin pan, but egg shapes and flipped them over to glaze. Very cute, and a delicious recipe. I did sub 2 teaspoons orange zest for the candied peel - otherwise followed the recipe exactly. Thank you so much, we'll make these every Good Friday!"

"We loved it! Except for subbing garlic powder for fresh garlic (because that's all I had, I followed the directions exactly. Absolutely wonderful - and now we have one pie in the freezer to enjoy next week! Thank you so much for this excellent, easy recipe."

"This was terrific. I used a 1 lb. bag of frozen cauliflower and microwaved it for about 4 minutes. Followed the rest of the instructions to the letter, baking at 450 for about 20 minutes. Everyone loved it, especially the great crispy brown crust, helped along by the breadcrumbs. The only thing I may do differently next time is to just defro..."

"Thanks so much for posting this, Evelyn! I found the recipe about 10 years ago in a magazine and had since lost it. I've made it 3 times to rave reviews. I do recommend greasing your pan, as did another reviewer. This tart is a bit of work, but for a special holiday dinner, totally worth it!"

"Wow, these really were super fluffy, and a delicious, economical way to use up sour milk! The batter is thick, but I just spread it out a bit in the pan to make a larger pancake. Will definitely make these again, with perhaps a pinch of salt added. Thanks for the recipe!"
