"Never had pupusas before making yours, and I loved them. They are so versatile with endless filling options, and a real comfort food if you love the textures and tastes of polenta, fried cornmeal mush, or tamales. Love how they crisp up on the outside and stay soft inside.YUM!"
"Froze very well, soft enough to dip easily, and was delicious. Grainy texture though, evidently from the cake mix. I will be making this again tho' as it is so easy to scoop after sitting in the freezer.
Edit: I used a better brand of cake mix and it lost the graininess. Went from 4 to 5 stars for me, Thanks : )"
"Holy Crap these are awesome! The 1st time I made only half the recipe; they were inhaled and I made a whole recipe 3 days later. The sun did not set on them either and there were only 3 of us here. Btw, I doubled the banana. It was like fantastic fried banana bread."
"I love this recipe but am happy I didn't put all the sugar in; I lost my nerve after 1/8 C. It took the edge off the acidity but the salsa stayed wonderfully tangy. Also diced unpeeled zuch and ours stayed very chunky, not at all watery. This is a new top favorite for us; can't stop eating this stuff. Thanks for another great one Bergy.&..."
"I'd never heard of this dish, but we love Mexican and we thought it was great. I made a substitution or two to avoid going to the grocery store, & found a recipe online for the 'sazon goya culantro con achiote' which I had never heard of. That consists of black pepper, garlic pdr, coriander, cumin, oregano, msg & annatto/anch..."
"It's not even done and I can't stop eating it out of the pot. SO good! I like to add some tomato and several smashed garlic cloves when stewing the meat, and to thicken I used a roux I make & store in the fridge."
"So good! I also used 1/2 cornstarch for tempura-like crispiness, and used half again more flour/cornstarch than was called for; my batter was very watery without it. We had fish & fried button mushrooms w/ ranch dressing and they were light, crispy & delicious. Tomorrow I'm going to use the leftover batter on zucchini cubes. Thanks : )"
