    "I followed the directions exactly except I just mixed the ingredients directly into the 8x8 glass pan with a fork. (Edit: I suggest beating or whisking for at least 1 minute, or else you'll get dense brownies. I omitted the nuts. I also substituted Alterna (Wal-Mart's version of Splenda for the sugar and a Country Crock spread for the butter...."
