"Found this when the fig tree decided to have it's best year ever. This is a really good meal! I didn't have cider vinegar so I used a Pinot Grigio vinegar instead, and no vermouth. still and all it was teriffic! This also worked well with pork chops and some veal medallions I cooked up for some friends. Very well done thank you for sharing"

"I followed this recipe, is a good idea but need a little tweaking,there is no amount given for the salt, I used 1 tspn, 1/2 c wine and the lemon juice is to much made it very acidic, I reduced it to 1/4 c wine and 2 TBLS lemon, this made it less acidic and harmonized the flavors a little better, also 1/4 c Old Bay was a little heavy, reduced it ..."

"This is a great little cake ! I did a couple of changes just to make it fun for a friend, i substituted 2 oz. Jamiesons for the Buttermilk and used Baileys in the frosting instead of milk. It was a hit at my office party and will be making over and over. Thank you for the recipe."
