"This was easy, tasty, and well received by DH. Instead of barbecue sauce I used a prepared pizza sauce, and provolone cheese. Served it with a canned minestrone soup; and some fresh fruit as a salad/dessert. Good for one of those days when, for whatever reason, serious cooking is not on the agenda."
"This is a wonderful recipe, added to my "tried and true" collection. It comes together easily and is very forgiving of substitution or elimination. I've made it once without the chicken, just increased veggies. I've used napa cabbage once, and bok choy instead of cabbage. Last, but not least, it's a taste pleaser. DH "oohed and aahed" over the fla..."
"Can't believe I'm the first to review this. It is a really great recipe. I used recipe #262189 for the spice mix. I've made this twice now. Once as written, with chicken, and it came out wonderfully. Second time I used lamb, braising the spiced meat with onions, water, and tomatoes before adding the zucchini (and threw in some eggplant as well). T..."
"This is an outstanding blend of spices! Aromatic when cooking, and with layers and layers of flavor from sweet to spicy (but not overwhelmingly so) when eating. Have used it twice on recipe #454193; once with chicken as called for, then again braising with lamb. With grilling season starting can't wait to try it as a rub."
"Wonderful! DH has always wants his asparagus steamed with a dollop of Miracle Whip on top. I'd done half a bunch that way just a few days earlier; and needing to use the rest as a side to chicken stroganoff on noodles i just couldn't deal with doing it that way again (aesthetically or nutritionally). The response to this "new" thing? "This is good..."
"I thought it was terrific - DH not so much (it was squash, after all). Made half a recipe, and used shredded rather than cubed cheese. Also, we use a chicken base paste rather than bouillon cubes. Instead of adding it to the pan with frying onions I mixed a tsp. of it with the reserved water, then used the recipe amount of salt. It came out fine."
"Really enjoyed this. It was tasty, and just different enough to make it a good side for a "special" dinner.Served it with a roast chicken breast, #77201 squash casserole, and some baked roma tomato halves."
