"This is a great-tasting meal that comes together easily meal! As mentioned in the description, it is very filling, as well. Next time, I think I would add in a bit more of the onion and bell pepper, as we prefer a bit higher of a veggie to potato ratio. :) I also would probably add in some garlic next time, too... because I love garlic and it ..."
"I agree -- for a simple, easy, stick-to-the-basics recipe for Salmon Cakes, this is the one to use. The only thing I would change is to make sure I had lemon juice on hand next time; I think a squeeze of citrus over the top would have been a perfect addition. My husband doesn't even like salmon but he ate half of them and mentioned several times..."
"While these are not the fastest, easiest treat I've ever made, they are certainly worth the effort. Definitely chill the dough before using. I roll it out into a large rectangle, cut into squares, dot with raspberry jam, and then fold over the top corner to the bottom opposite corner of each square (making a triangle). I like to dust the counte..."
"A wonderfully comforting meal that's perfect for chilly weather! I had some leftover cabbage after making Bierocks, and this recipe used the rest of it up nicely. I added in some garlic, increased the carrot, sub'd kielbasa for the polish sausage, and used a combination of butter/EVOO to saute' the veggies. We were pleasantly surprised at how r..."
"We think leftovers don't keep very well as the onion topping becomes soggy and the flavors are "off" when reheated. Wonderful when it's freshly made, however. :) ***March 2010 Review: I originally received this recipe from my pastor's wife, and it was titled Puffy Potato Casserole. I used prepared mashed potatoes (that already had butter, salt,..."
"Made these for dinner last night -- a total hit! It smelled wonderful while it was baking, and tasted great when it came out. I gave the wings a flip about halfway through the cooking time, and basted once or twice, which, I believe, contributed to a nice, even color on the wings. Thanks for sharing, Theresa!"
"Our pastor's wife gave me a similar recipe -- still has 7 cans, but the breakup is a little different. 3 (10-12 oz) cans minestrone, 2 cans ranch style beans, and 2 cans Rotel. We like ours with tortilla chips and a dollop of sour cream on top. This is one of my husband's favorite dishes, which is saying a lot, since he doesn't usually like sou..."
"Delicious!!! I doubled the recipe, sub'd beef kielbasa instead of andouille, added some carrots, and used 1 whole yellow pepper. Also added in some garlic and a little more salt (I think mine might have needed more salt because I used homemade broth?). My husband said it's a DEFINITE keeper! Thanks, Sue!"
"Yum, this is one of my favorite meals for busy nights. I use Recipe #278160 in place of the canned soup. I also place the seasonings in a zip-top bag, add in several heaping tablespoons of flour (just to make sure I get a good distribution of spices) and shake it with the meat; it also helps get a nice coating on the chops. I also prefer EVOO t..."
"Easy and delicious! I use unsalted butter and only 1/2 cup of sugar. I've also used half whole wheat flour and it still turns out nice and moist. Another way I've made this is to add in 2 Tbs. of cocoa powder with the dry ingredients, and in place of the nuts, I use 1/2 cup chocolate chips. Definitely going into my keeper file!"
