    Reviewed Pecan Pie

     |  By ann hugo

"This was the absolute best pecan pie I've ever tasted. Super easy to make and not cloyingly sweet like most. Recommend cooling the butter and sugar mixture a bit before adding the eggs to not cook them. I did decrease the sugar a little bit. Would love to see this with macadamia nuts!"

"Super health conscious, so I lightened this up. Used no oil for the green onions, sauteed on a teflon pan instead. Removed an egg and used milk instead of cream and less cheese. Added white pepper. Was a big hit at the table served with an endive salad."

"Spectacular! Added some tumeric to the sauce and a little extra garmam masala as the family loves it. I used skinless chicken thighs instead as we like bone-in meat. Also, we love heat and so used serrano chiles rather than jalapeno. Our garam masala is made locally and is very fragrant. Sauteed the spices for a minute to enhance the flavors."

"One of my kids is wheat and gluten intolerant. Creamed everything together except the flour and divided that into thirds. One third I mixed a third of a cup of tapioca starch and a third of a cup of rice flour. The remainder of the two thirds creamed sugar/butter mix I added one cup of wheat flour to. Baked these, some traditionally and some i..."

"Stunning!~ I am not a big anisette fan, but my Italian in-laws are. Thought there was too much extract in the cookies, I was wrong; they were actually perfect! No time for pictures, the family ate them all in one sitting. They were soft, a cross between a cookie and a bread. The texture perfect, the sweetness divine. The great thing we discu..."

"These are a wow!! I did cream the sugar and butter before adding the eggs and dry ingredients. Also, I ground a little nutmeg into it. No time for pictures, the family devored them. 5+ stars!"

"Love this!! Best banana bread recipe. Hate the overly oily kind normally found, this was perfect. I did switch pecans for the almonds though and used fresh ground spices to optimize the flavors."

"Great recipe, adapted it to my likes. Reduced beef to 2 1/2 pounds, added rutabagas and celery. I dislike Hoisin, but wanted to keep Evelyn's thread so reduced it to 1 tablespoon and added 1 tablespoon of dark soy and 2 tablespoons of vegetarian oyster sauce. Increased to 4 garlic cloves and also added a cup of beef stock as it was quite thick ..."
