"I had to substiture crisco shortening for the butter here and it was still one of the BEST icings I've made. I'm a vegan so we never use real butter for anything anyway. In this case we were out of pretty much everything (includng vegan butter And we really wanted cake! This whips up in a snap and I always have the stuff! YAY. Definite keeper."

"I halved this recipe for my smaller crock pot. I also veganized it (using tvp for the ground beef and made my own veggie "beefish" broth We gobbled it up!
