"I had very high hopes for this recipe especially since I paid close to $50 for a really nice Angus brisket. I was a little sceptical about the cook time. One thing that should be mentioned is if you are using the flat or the point, this recipe may come out better. If you are using the whole, then the cooking time is nowhere near enough. At this te..."

"Excellent recipe! I made it exactly as written the first time and served it with meatballs. Very good. I made it again the next day but this time I used beef broth instead of vegetable stock. I could not see or taste any difference. Both were excellent. Will be serving this at an upcoming wedding even for 200 guests."

"I have made this previously but evidentally I did not review. This is a GREAT recipe. The finished product is delicious and if made ahead it saves a ton of stress the day of the dinner. I will certainly be using this again at Thanksgiving. I made the recipe exactly as written. I do prefer to make it a day or two ahead, put it in the crockpot then ..."

"A very good recipe. I had a couple of hispanic guests who remarked that the rice was excellent. I used diced canned jalapenos instead of fresh. I will make this again."

"Update: After making this for the last three years and struggling with the eggs cooking, I finally got it right. Who knew I just needed to follow the recipe to a T. I mixed everything in the pot including the eggs and then turned it on to cook. Not a piece of cooked egg in sight. Still one of the most requested items in my Holiday Gift bag.

"I don't know anything about how this compares to Cracker Barrel since I've never eaten there BUT I do know that this was some good grub. I made this to take to our Christmas potluck and it was excellent. I paid attention to all the suggestions in the reviews so I cut the sour cream in half, omitted the butter/margarine, thawed the hash browns firs..."

"I forgot to rate this when I made it at Christmas, using two boneless legs of lamb. This was fantastic. I did reduce the salt and pepper plus I added the Worcestershire sauce as recommended. I am making two pork shoulder roast next week for a potluck and will use this recipe again. Thanks Kelly."

"Winner! These were very easy to make. We did a total of 10 dozen. Next year we will do twice that amount because they were very popular. We decorated using http://www.recipezaar.com/Royal-Icing-19250 and package 2 per package in clear celophane Christmas bags with a tie. Very pretty and received rave reviews. Thanks for posting."

"Thanks for posting this Kelly. I had this recipe at one time and then lost it so I was very happy to see that it was on here. This was a very big hit on our Holiday trays. Probably the first thing to go. Delicious and easy. It only takes a few minutes to make a panful. I wish all my other candies were this easy."

"These were easy to put together and roll out. I then put them in the freezer until hardened. I dipped in milk chocolate and paraffin. I did find it easier to dip them if they were still on the frozen side so I would return them to the freeze every so often so the remainder could harden back up. This is now going in our Holiday Gift Bag Library. Th..."
