"I actually modified this recipe so much I'm not sure if I can still call it the same one... but it turned out amazing so 5 stars!I halved the sugar, replaced about a quarter or the bran with wheat germ and used multigrain flour instead of white. Also replaced half the butter with applesauce and added frozen blueberries. I'm glad I doubled the rec..."

"This is one of the best cake recipes I have ever made! I made it for my sister's birthday in a springform pan so I could easily ice the sides (baked at 350 for 50-55minI also cut back the sugar to 1.5 cups and didn't measure the banana's (used 3 large. I didn't have skim milk for the sour milk so I used 2%.I will definitely make this again!"

"This is a really unique bread. It definitely became more moist after the second day. I think I would try maple syrup next time or half honey, half brown sugar to sweeten it as a couple reviewers suggested.I listened to a few reviews that said this was dry so I added a little plain yogurt to the batter for a little extra moisture and it seemed to..."

"This is a wonderful recipe but a little sweet for my taste. I cut down the sugar to 1.5 cups and I think next time I would cut it back even more. (I didn't have granny smith apples though so that would probably have cut back the sweetness tooI will definitely try this one again!"

"These are amazing! I have never baked with spelt and thought I would try this recipe... I didn't really know what to expect and I was so happy with the results. I used the applesauce and real eggs as well as ground ginger in place of nutmeg and about 1.5 bananas. Also didn't have raisins so I used dried cranberries. The flavour and texture are so..."

"This is a great recipe and very easy to make. I only used 2 eggs and added a little vanilla and cinnamon to the mix as others had suggested. I can't wait to try them again with some fresh strawberries!"
