"Made a big, beautiful loaf. I halved the recipe. Easy in the bread machine. I added raisins."

"This recipe was the find and favorite of the past xmas season. Fantastic. Very forgiving for types of candied fruit used. Make sure you get something red in the mix, cherries or dried cranberries."

"I read all of the reviews and ajusted the recipe based on them. I used less sugar and more oats. The toppingis exactly right, but needs more oats and less sugar, if that makes sense. Would be good witrh other fruits too, but look at the sugar content depending on the fruit you are using, it will be different each time."

"I used this on chicken pieces for 2 hours, then baked in the oven. It definitely made a difference. They were juicy and tasty. I didn't use the full amount of sugar and I would definitely be careful of not using too much salt."

"Good, basic recipe, rose beautifully. Needed to cook a bit longer in my oven. Needs a bit more spice or other ingredients to make it more interesting. I tossed mini chips and raisins with flour and mixed them into the batter. Put coarse sugar on top."

"Good, but not quite the consistency I was looking for, not anisey enough and I didn't like the shape baking in the bread pans gave, although it was very easy to do it that way. They popped right out of the pans for the second part of the cooking."

"Good, easy and cheap. Lots of little variations possible. I always double it for leftovers."

"Easy to make with things in the house. Taste good but didn't rise as nicely as I had hoped they would. Worth it just for the baking soda in the yogurt step--wow!"

"Classic recipe. I was in a hurry, so I made them in a 9 x 13 pan and cut into squares. Took about 30 minutes to bake."

"Perfect. Saves $ too. Great for countries where you can't get unsweetened baking chocolate."
