"Making sandwiches for a reception, I thought this needed some zip. I shredded & drained the cucumber, added a splash of Worcestershire, some white pepper, and finally scored the taste we like by adding about a tsp or more of Tabasco's Jalapeno sauce : it's not hot, its mildly piquante, and reacted w/ the cucumbers & cheese for a very interesting ..."

"After tasting Pizza Hut's new Tuscani pasta, we wanted to make similar at home for busy times: This fit the bill nicely: easy, tasty and re-heatable! I used pasta sauce & added dessicated garlic and some savory. The no-salt diced tomatoes are surprisingly good. The white wine added flavour to the onion. I made tiny meatballs (like on pizza from h..."

"Simple. elegant. Tasty. Im lucky to have round-leaf mint, it's perfect for this sauce, but spearmint works too. Its the malt vinegar that makes it. As good as the imported sauces only a LOT more economical. Thanks for a great recipe."

"This was an unusual combination of flavours, but very tasty. I used it because I didnt have to shop for ingredients -- I used home-made chili sauce, made 'jelly' from fresh whole cranberries & sugar. The taste is good -- but I couldnt resist putting in about a half tsp. of Chinese 5-Spice to pep it up. The vinegar gives a slight tart taste, simila..."

"These are awesome-tasting and very easy to make, especially if you BAKE the beets. A very good item for gift giving and church bazaars - always well received. The spice as described is very tasty - but Leda M's advice for long-term storage is good. Excellent recipe."

"Found this rather bland, but a good soup recipe to add your own tasty touches too. I added some worcestershire, dill, some Mrs. Dash and chopped celery tops. Hubby likes cream added before serving, I take it plain. I used to work at Canadian Living & loved the test kitchens!"

"While good, we found this to be on the bland side - more garlic! To bring up the taste, I added celery seed and tomato paste plus 3 basil balls. This was good, but not spectacular. Good with toasted cheese on a roll."

"I tried this - its simple and very good but butter-heavy. For similar flavour I grow lots of fresh basil every year & process leaves with a tiny bit of olive oil & freeze in 2-TBSP balls. This can be made into a small batch of pesto by adding garlic etc. or simply drop 1 or 2 frozen basil balls into minestrone or tomato soup for fresh basil fla..."

"Excellent! Easy to put together. I used a mix of sugar plus Splenda. The OJ and cherries sweeten nicely. It's a nice moist "cakey" bread you could add almonds to,or use as a holiday gift loaf, or make for buffets, bazaars, etc. A very useful recipe with lots of room for personal additions. Thank you Derf, this makes holiday baking easier."

"Excellent combination of flavours. I served this on a bed of baby spinach & fresh lettuce from the garden. To offset meat consumption, I added small chunks of feta cheese & sprinkled the chopped nuts over all. The marinade was a very nice dressing. Served with an Orvieto white wine, it's a perfect small supper or hot-weather luncheon plate. Thank ..."
