    Shared Recipe Gluten-Free Sausage Stuffing

"This was one of the best types of stuffing I have ever had, so I wanted to remember exactly what I did! I used Wegmans store brand "sage pork sausage" but you could use a breakfast sausage, and perhaps add a little extra dried ground sage. If you need this to be gluten-free, be sure to check ALL your ingredients, including the sausage!"

Shared Recipe Pumpkin Pie Oatmeal Bake

"There are lots of recipes for baked oatmeal with pumpkin in them, but not this much pumpkin! It's fairly moist, dense and chewy, mildly sweet, and very filling."

Shared Recipe Simple Maple Baked Oatmeal

"I made some changes to a recipe I found on a blog (http://homejoys.blogspot.com/2011/11/baked-oatmeal.html) based on what I had in the kitchen at the time and what I was in the mood for. I'm sure it's excellent as written, too! It makes a very thick/dry finished product."

    Shared Recipe Pineapple-Cucumber Salad

"This was sort of a side-recipe in an Everyday Food email, designed to accompany broiled chili-lime chicken thighs. It sounds simple and tasty!"

Reviewed Condensed Cream of Chicken Soup Substitute - Gluten-Free

"This was SO FAST AND EASY! I used half cream and half water in place of the milk, and tapioca starch. I haven't used it in the recipe yet, but I tasted it, and the taste and texture are quite similar to the stuff that comes out of those cans."

    About Me

I'm a graduate student in biochemistry. I started cooking when my husband was unemployed, for financial reasons, but I absolutely love it now!

I'm a terrible baker for some reason. I don't know what my problem is. So, for the most part, I don't even try.

My interests include: video games, football, health and fitness, theatre, science fiction, hunting, and comedy.

    Favorite Foods

My latest hobby is reading about nutrition.  As a result of everything I've learned, I've started eating high-fat and low-carb for health reasons (and, as a nice bonus, for weight loss).  I mostly follow Mark Sisson's Primal Blueprint (www.marksdailyapple.com).

I'm always on the lookout for recipes with no grains, beans/legumes, freaky vegetable oils, starchy vegetables, or sugar.

I can't always afford all the organic veggies and pastured/grass-fed meats I want, on my grad student budget, but I make an effort.
