Shared Recipe Black Dog Garlic Hummus
May 5, 2010 on Recipezaar
I am a mother of my 8 year old beautiful, sweet boy! And a 5 year old gorgeous little girl! I am very fortunate to be able to stay home with them. Yeah I thrive for adult conversation but that's what 'zaar is for right?! I would love to go back to school someday for either interior design, or business and culinary school to start up my own bakery or catering business, or even photography. That would be my dream come true! I married my best friend on June 22, 2003. DH works allllll day(60 hours a week) 5 days a week so I dont get to see him as much as I wish but that's why I cook dinner and treasure dinner time. It's our time to unwind together. We love watching movies together. We are huge Yankees fans. My Mom is an amazing cook and I thank her for sharing her gift, but I really am self taught. I love to experiment and try new things. I'm like a Jewish or Italian mom, forcing people to try everything I make and I don't take "no" for an answer! The whole saying that you are either a cooker or a baker is so not true, I am both! I am happiest in my kitchen making either something gooey and chocolatey, or cheesy and full of flavor...all while listening to my favorite music. Food truly is a product if love for me, it is how I show my family and friends how much I care about them, it is how I welcome new babies in the world, new neighbors in the neighborhood, new brides and grooms to married life, it is how I show my children I am proud of them, how I thank my husband for his hard work, co-workers how I appreciate them, and how I show my friends I value them. Cheers!http://www.recipezaar.com/members/home/102299/100_0209.jpg
my favorite dish is the ziti out of the Sopranos cookbook..it takes a day to make but is the most worth while dishes I've EVER made! *EDITED 2010 to say: I have made the worlds best enchiladas, and so far nobody has disagreed! recipe coming soon!I dont have a huge sweet tooth, I like real meals instead. I enjoy mastering a recipe that is a dificult one to prepare. I have a massive cookbook collection that will probably be the reason for us having to move out of our apartment! *edited to say: We bought our first house April 28th 2008!! nothing compares to having your own kitchen!!
my favorite restaurantis PIER 57, A local resaurant. When DH and I go there we always get the same thing: Stuffed mushrooms for an app, they are to die for!!! and mozzerella cubes as an app also. Then for a meal I get this amazing chicken that is stuffed with seafood stuffing, roasted red peppers and breaded then topped with a mornaise sauce. mmmmmm...it is the best meal not to mention the fact that it comes with bread and this homemade butter that has herbs in it that is the best flavor around. then the ceaser salad with homemade dressing...yum! ok thats enough, I have to stop talking about it.
