    About Me

Hi all -- Have had the good fortune to be an "at home" mom now for 17 years with two teenagers and a husband who loves home cooking. I'm extremely olfactory and adore the aroma of something wonderful from the kitchen, especially comfort foods & old fashioned dishes. Huge sweet tooth, LOVE desserts, cookies, etc. However, have wisely been making & serving more salads, especially with all the great salad stuff available these days (spring mix, snow peas, etc.) I marvel at God's generosity that our family always has so much to EAT, and I truly do enjoy cooking, despite the occasional rant about the relentlessness of making dinner. We rarely eat out, but that's okay with me. My two children will be leaving the nest far too soon, so the more nights we spend eating together at home, the better. I love the 'zaar and have used oodles of great recipes from this site. Thanks to all the great women out there who share and rate recipes!

    Favorite Foods

Topping my list of favorite foods are the tried & trues like roast beef, roast chicken, mashed potatoes, stew, crusty breads - it's actually easier to just say what I don't like: beets, canned fruit, odd meats (tongue, brains, etc.)or exceptionally weird combos of ingredients, and cakes with jelly in them. In fact, I love most other food, especially a simple meal like soup, salad and bread. The smell of onions in a skillet makes me so happy! Love Italian and Mexican food, and the few times I've been treated to genuine French cuisine, I've just about keeled over from joy. I actually really enjoy the food I myself cook, is that too awful to say? I sometimes think it's better than restaurant food. And of course I love chocolate and anything with lots of carbs, butter, and other sinful delights.
