Southern California
Hi - My name suggests I'm a farmer (I'm not, but I wish I were). My family grows wine grapes, amongst other things, in Northern California. I've been married to my best friend (who also comes from a farming family in Southern California) for over 30 years. We have two grown kids, DD and DS.
We love fresh veggies and fruits - no meal is without at least 1 or 2 choices. But since we both have demanding jobs, we also use meal-planning, OAMC, and make-ahead techniques to bridge the gap. My favorite time of day has always been coming together over a delicious dinner.
My latest passion is food-photography! I'm still learning a lot, but I'm trying to post photos with all my recipes. DH is starting to question whether Zaar-ites ever get hot dinners. But he also helps me with the photos, so I don't think he's all that irritated.
Besides cooking, I enjoy gardening (including growing as many vegetables as I can) and quilting. Tried scrap-booking for a while, but am hopelessly behind on that (isn't that what shoeboxes are for, anyway?)
Banners that wouldn't move:
There are so many wonderful cuisines - Thai, Mexican, Chinese, Italian, Greek, Moroccan. Love 'em all. And one of the great things about living in California is the abundance of fresh, quality vegetables and fruits. Most recently, I've been experimenting with more fish and vegan recipes to improve our health. it's actually been fun.
