"When we no longer have good cooking in the world, we will have no literature, nor high and sharp intelligence, nor friendly gatherings, no social harmony."

Thanks to living in So Cal until I was 5 I have never been a picky eater. Since being in the New York metro area for the last 20 years I have experienced food in a way I wish everyone could. I was a lucky child being born to true foodies. My mother always made the classics and made them well. My father always made interesting new things that were always great. I was raised with cooking being very important for men and women. Eating at some of greatest restaurants in the NYC area made me realize how special food is, and how you need to really care for it. I've noticed the more you care about the people you are feeding the harder you will work to make it great. I am surprised today to find most people hate being in the kitchen at all. I find it the greatest escape (and my kitchen is tiny box in an apartment). That's pretty much all I have to say. If you happen to be traveling in, around, through, New Haven stop and have a bite to eat. We all like cooking, but I some of the best places I have ever eaten at are in New Haven.
(It probably would easier to list the few things I don't like.)
