Reviewed " Whatever Floats Your Boat" Brownies!
"This is my go-to recipe for brownies, & everyone that eats them is in awe of how delicious they are! I give the recipe out quite a bit these days. I always double the recipe, & add in a tsp of baking powder for a little fluffiness to them. My favorite add in is peanut butter m&m's, which I usually put about 2 cups in (almost the whole 16oz bag) & t..."

Reviewed Ground Beef Stroganoff
"I used this recipe as more or less a rough guide as I changed a few things. Omitted mushrooms but used a can of cream of mushroom instead of chicken. Also added garlic powder and substituted beef bouillon for the salt. Drained grease before adding the cream of mushroom but added in some extra butter and about a 1/2 cup water for a looser sauce. Did..."

Reviewed Quick Spanish Rice
"Made this tonight with a few tweaks. I switched the cumin and chili powder amounts, as I knew it would make for a more authentic flavor. Also used a whole teaspoon of plain garlic powder. My husband is hispanic and I have seen his grandmother make her spanish rice lots of times always seasoning only with cumin, salt, pepper, whole garlic cloves cho..."

I love to cook, and deeply believe in 'umami'. Umami is the Japanese word for what we call 'savoriness'. I love to infuse everything I cook with just the right amounts of spices and seasonings; flavor is everything! I love to perfect recipes I come across :) I'm kind of picky, I suppose, when it comes to the way things are seasoned. I'm also very picky about the way things are done in the kitchen, so I tend to put way too much detail into my reviews and recipes
! My husband Marc has nine years of cooking experience in the restaurant business, so I've learned a lot from him. All the cooking I do is for us, and he of course is happy to help. His pallate is a little more sensitive than mine so I tend to test out new things on him ;) We've always dreamed of opening a restaurant together. I hope later in life we're able to accomplish that dream. Until then, I'll be exploring the many recipes of Food.com. I hope my reviews are helpful to other chefs out there. I also hope my recipes are enjoyed by everyone, and please note I am always open to constructive criticism :)
Chinese, Italian, Mexican, Comfort food, Southern food. That's just the broad range of types of food I enjoy cooking. Well and eating of course too :P I suppose there are a few dishes my fiance and family love a lot - my chicken and dumplings, my chicken and rice, my loaded mashed potatoes, my fried pork chops, my chicken noodle soup, brown gravy, italian meatballs, cajun chicken, cheese sticks. Although, to be honest, a lot of my recipes are just recipes from across RZ that I have tweaked and toyed with until I absolutely loved it. I have a few originals but not many haha. My favorite restaurants are mostly local to my hometown - Ramsey's, an old diner with food like your grandma makes; Moo Moo's, hands down the best fried chicken I've ever had; Dragon Palace, great chinese; Gonzales Cafe, real Mexican food; Tejanita, more real Mexican food lol. There are a few in other cities - Carrabas (yes the chain! lol) in Austin, The Longhorn in Corpus Cristi - not to be confused with the steak and ale place. That's all I can think of at the moment.

"I got this idea from the banana pudding recipe I use (the first one that comes up when you search for it on here) and I have to say I was surprised at how delicious it came out! I had the intention of using chocolate whipped cream but my husband grabbed plain & improvising worked out well for me, but you're welcome to use chocolate whipped cream. I..."
