    About Me

I was a chef for 18 years, cooking at a Ivy League College I still love to cook,I still cater occasionally, but wanted to fulfill my other dream. I am a artist/muralist, I was creative with food, but now I am creative with paint. Check out my website: www.custompaintingbydi.com

I'm happily married to Bob, we have a dog Missy, shes a Rottie. We live in Belchertown, MA. Love gardening, and have a fish pond/water garden. Love to shop, and try new things.

My family is very important to me. My Mom and I cook together all the time.Mom was a cook for 29 years at the College I worked at. My brother thinks he is Emril, and is always cooking new yummy things...his wife does not cook. My sister, well, she needs some improving, shes a "quick and easy way as possible cook" I rather spend the time and have a great dish.

I love to cook for other people and show off my talents---I go all out and decorate the table with a theme, different levels and table coverings, maybe add some white lights, and flowers or pine branches for the holidays. I love a elegant table :)

My pet peeve is: going out for a nice dinner, paying good $$ and being disappointed because I know I could have cooked it better, or ordering , say, a salad and it not being fresh--the really irks me. Alot of times I will special order something and make up my own menu--that way I know they have to make mine special, with special attention. My hubby hates when I do that.

    Favorite Foods

My favorite foods are "comfort foods" soup or stews in the winter. Love pasta Dishes. And I love to try new salads in the summer. Anything fresh. I love Shrimp, Scallops, Lobster. I'll try any (vegetarian) ethnic food. Love Polish food, we make 1,000 perogies in my family each Nov. There are so many great foods, I don't think I could single out one food as my favorite.

I don't eat alot of meat. I am not a fan of Beef. I'll try anything vegetarian. Some people think I am picky, but I think its because I worked with food for so long I am more of a critic and know when food is fresh, and what it should look like and taste like.
