"No go. More like a sort of brownie flavored cookie (next day especially). I tried the recipe based on reviews but my taste in brownies is definitely not with this one. The other reviewers are obviously better cooks than me.
I'll stick with my own. A more involved prep but I like them a lot. I posted the recipe today."

"Very good and you know what's in them! Simple and quick. Way better than store-brought frozen pancakes that are exactly the same in every way each and every time. Boring. Just like Ma used to make. Scoop out the batter on a hot pan and wait for the bubbles then flip for a minute. Any dope can make these wonderful little guys! I prove it every time..."

If you can boil water (for blanching) and brown hamburger, you can make this come out good every time. Truth is that I use tomatoes with skin some of the time and canned diced tomatoes too. It's a very forgiving recipe.

I am getting kind of bored with my standard fare. So I look here for simple but different foods. American Profile (inserted in newspapers) always showcases a recipe. I ignored them for years but about 2 years ago I started reading them and after a year of that I began trying some. The hits were a tomato salad (great way to avoid giving away or freezing half your crop). Another was Polynesian Ribs.

"These are not flat like candy bars or fluffy like a piece of cake. Very full chocolate flavor brought about using baker's unsweetened chocolate. "Neither fudgy or cakey but with a nice chew". That's how the recipe read in a magazine that published it from Cook's Illustrated (Erika Bruce). I tried it exactly as printed, then adjusted a couple things..."
