    About Me

I am a stay at home wife, mother, and grandmother.

My grandson was diagnosed with celiac disease in January. You can imagine our house being turned upside down while I removed everything that had gluten or if I wasn't sure it had gluten. From Ceilings to floors, cleaners to shampoos and lotions everything was changed. To our surprise many of our current products were already gluten free which is not often the case.

You can imagine I spend a lot of time in the kitchen cooking meals for him from scratch. I prefer to make chicken nuggets rather then spend the extra cash to buy gluten free he doesn't like.

Later my husband was diagnosed with high cholesterole and with my diabetes it just made changing the diet a priority. Though I still feed my grandson gluten free, my husband and I are strict paleo of 90/10.

Can you imagine an Italian on paleo? Where's the pasta?!?! But it works and I am grateful to know that I am slowly working off my medicines. My husbands cholesterole level is coming down and best of all my grandson no longer has pain on a daily basis.

For me my life is in the kitchen and with that is my garden. Now how do I grow peppers in the middle of winter in Missouri????

    Favorite Foods

By far my favorite dishes are soups not really sure why. Next in line would be Japanese or Asian foods but I've been to nervous to try cooking them yet. I'm working on my gumption and have come to the point of selecting recipes and looking for Asian markets to visit in my area so the time is close!

I'm not famous for any dish, not that I haven't tried I've been working on the dishes I serve to my husband.

My favorite restaurant changes from a Mexican restaurant we stumbled on, to a cajun restaurant we happened to find on line in a city we visited.

My favorite chef I would have to say is Jamie at Home. I love the clean direct approach he has for cooking and so passionate about it being healthy.
