Shared Recipe Pinto Beans With Sausage and Ham

"This recipe started out on FaceBook in our recipe swap group posted by member Vicky. Originally this recipe called for Kidney beans and Hamburger meat which I replaced the kidney beans with Pinto Beans, and used ham instead of Hamburger meat, (adding the ham instead of hamburger was by mistake). I was trying to remember the ingredients by heart. I ..."

    Reviewed Banana Bread

"Very simple and easy recipe. I did use 4 bananas (didn't measure) and added 1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring. Also I greased and floured my loaf pan to prevent sticking. The top of the loaf was nice and crispy, and the inside very moist. Thanks for sharing!"

    About Me

I'm the mother of 2 (boy and a girl), currently 3 grandchildren (all girls), 1 Chihuahua (Bebe` Chico), and at last count 8-yard cats. Too many of my city friends believe I live a pretty boring life in the country. But country life is perfect for  me. For fun I travel around the state visiting country fairs and craft shows. I own more gardening and craft books than cook books, that's what drew me to recipezaar. My passions are cooking, gardening, scrapbooking, sewing and spending time with my family.

My biggest problem right now is finding time to spend on this wonderful site. Last summer I did start back up canning and I even purchased a pressure canner so now I'm canning a little more than just jams and jellies.

I'm so glad to see so many people are enjoying my Thanksgiving Turkey Recipe, and it pleases me to know you are receiving great compliments on the "juicy bird"!

Thank you all for your wonderful comments, Lots of Love.. ~GMaw~

    Favorite Foods

My favorite dishes to cook are anything smoked on the smoker, vegetable dishes, and sweets. I guess you can tell I'm a carb lover. I love home canning and sharing the fruits of my labor with my family, and friends. Although I have to admit since I broke my leg in 2000 I haven't canned or gardened as much as I use too.
The most requested dishes that I cook are Smoked Turkey (injected with my secret ingredients and my secret blend of wood chips used in the smoker), chicken and dumplings (my son's absolute favorite), Red Velvet Cake (my daughter want's this now instead of chocolate), and Chicken and black bean enchiladas.
My favorite restaurants in Columbus GA are:
Red Lobster for their lobster, crab legs, broiled shrimp, and butter sauce are my favorites there.
ShoGun Japanese Steak House and Sushi Bar all of their meals are cooked by your own chef in front of you Tappan Yaki Style. Lobster is my favorite there also, the stir fry veggies are wonderful.
Chef Lee's Peking Restaurant for there shrimps in lobster sauce.
Country's Barbecue for great barbecue and veggies too!
