When I married, I knew how to make only cucumber salad and spaghetti . Aftr returning from the honeymoon, I spent the summer making many of the recipes from my BH&G cookbook. Then my young DH was diagnosed with various health issues, so I began "cooking healthy". It wasn't until my kitchen journey incorporated herbs and real/nourishing foods did our family's health drastically improve and medications were not needed. The real milestone was my introduction to Nourishing Traditions by Sally Fallon and like-minded bloggers. We support organic foods, raw milk, grass-fed beef, and local first. We eat only homemade foods using many home-prepared ingredients. For example, the flour in recipes was either freshly ground from wheat berries and soaked in a lactic-acid medium, or the wheat berries were sprouted, dehydrated, and then I ground them. Cooking around here is a labor of love, but then again, by God's grace, we have the good health that goes with using Real Food.
