Hello. My wife and I live just outside of Atlanta, GA. Two daughters live in town, one with my two grandsons. :) My son is living in Hollywood, CA. I'm an environmental manager at a manufacturing facility.
My Mom and Dad would have loved this site. Dad was a huge collector of recipes and was in the food industry. Mom was a terrific cook as well. Another influence was a roommate at the Universtiy of Arkansas that was an excellent cook. Today I enjoy barbecuing and grilling year round and cooking in general. My latest adventure is in bread baking. I'm loving it and going to school on it right here on the bread forum.
I'm active in a terrific church and also love fly fishing and fly tying.

I've lived in Texas, Arkansas and Louisianna and picked up a taste for traditional chili, smoked brisket, gumbos and etouffees. I love Tex-Mex as well as classic mexican food.
I guess follks associate me with barbecue, breads and gumbo. Each year our church hosts two Thanksgiving dinners for our town and a neighboring town. We smoke about 1200 lbs of meat each year for this. Lots of guys cooking, lots of smokers (some huge ones), lots of fun, very little sleep.
My favorite restaurant is one that my entire family of origin worked at one time or another: The Red Apple Inn in Arkansas. Last summer I ate there after about 30 years and the food was still great.
Other favorites include Dante's Down the Hatch in Atlanta and Carmines off Times Square in NY (go early).
