"When I made this recipe for Thanksgiving, I forgot the half and half, but it was still a delicious dish that received several compliments. This is definitely a five-star recipe, if it still tastes great without a key ingredient. The unintentional lower fat content was a plus! Thank you for sharing!"

    About Me

I enjoy my family, writing, reading, teaching, mildly exercising, coffee with friends, volunteering, planting flowers, taking walks, book store browsing, entertaining, going to movies, history, and cooking, not necessarily in that order. I've enjoyed cooking since I was a little girl, helping in the kitchen. I particularly love to cook in the fall, when it's time to get cozy. When my mom, sister, and I all lived in different parts of the country, sharing recipes made us feel closer, especially on holidays. Now, we're fortunate enough to live near each other.

    Favorite Foods

My husband tells me if I were a food, I'd be yogurt since I've eaten it daily for years and years. I'd also be toast, muffins, rolls, guacamole, soup, chili, a bowl of hot oatmeal, homemade chocolate pudding, enchiladas, waffles topped with applesauce, tuna fish sandwiches with tomato and sprouts, most pasta dishes, berries, mango salsa, watermelon, anything cranberry, Thanksgiving stuffing, Jonathan apples, chocolate chip cookies, and surely, salads. I invariably eat slowly, and savor every bite.
