    About Me

    I was born and raised in Southern California. I decided to become vegetarian in 1997 after reading the book "Diet For A New America", by John Robbins. I felt like it could be my small contribution to the benefit of the earth. I love the beauty of nature, and wish I could spend more time camping and hiking. I also love collecting recipes, even though I don't cook as much as I'd like to. It's a great form of relaxation for me.

    Update:  I now am blessed with three beautiful grandchildren that mean the world to me.  Two girls (Amanda and Macie) and now a new baby boy named Cameron.  I love spending time with them along with my two toy fox terriers, Ozzie & Harriet.    

    Favorite Foods

    I'm always looking for great meatless main dishes. I'm not real big on desserts, but I love to cook them and let others enjoy! Growing up in Southern California, I have been exposed to great Mexican foods and they rate right up at the top of my favorites. There are some great hamburger substitutes (Morningstar Farms, Boca) on the market, so I make tacos, burgers and various other dishes with those and it works well for me.
