    About Me

    I started cooking with my mom while standing on a chair beside her at the kitchen counter and, luckily, I seemed to have a knack for it. Now, although my hobbies are wide and varied, I still have a passion for baking and still enjoy cooking very much. In 2010, I had gastric bypass surgery, which has forced me to overhaul my recipes and eating habits...for the better! Now, it's all about healthy and fresh for me and I'm embracing all that life has to offer. I'm married, so I'm always on the look-out for healthy low-fat, low-sugar recipes that my non-surgery hubby and I can BOTH enjoy. Fortunately, in today's day and age, I'm not having too difficult of a time with that! Smile

    Favorite Foods

    My favorite thing to do in the kitchen is bake and I'm pretty good at it, too! Wink 

    I wanted to become a pastry chef out of high school, but things didn't work out that way. To toot my own horn, I've won two First Place and one Second Place ribbons at our county fair as a young adult, which was pretty fun. I've also been 'published' in Taste of Home a few years back. Nowadays, I bake for friends and coworkers. I'm on the constant search for delicious dessert recipes that are both low-fat and sugar-free...sometimes easier said than done!

    I love meat (steak, medium rare, please!), think fresh veggies rock, adore soups, and think seafood is a must, too!
