Reviewed Cappuccino Muffins
"This is a fantastic muffin. It won't beat you over the head with coffee flavor, so if that is what you are after, I assume upping the instant coffee/espresso powder quantities will help. Love the idea of chocolate chips, too, I think that additive matches another cappuccino muffin recipe on this site (plus a coffee-cream cheese spread).

Reviewed Lemon Cooler Cookies
"These are a great party cookie--which is to say that they are pretty and tasty, but not SO pretty and tasty that people will just gobble them up at an open house. Does that make sense? I also made chewy coconut cookies half-dipped in chocolate and they were pretty well demolished at the same gathering.
I added lemon zest and a few drops ..."

Working with food is one of the most rewarding and soothing activities for me. I formerly worked in a fancy restaurant where I was able to learn a lot about French dessert-making techniques, and up until 2004 (when we moved overseas for work) I was happily employed at a small family cafe where continued to hone my cooking techniques!
My favorite foodblog is Orangette. I love her writing and recipes!
I also am a bookworm--my favorite novels are 'Godric' by Frederick Beuchner, 'A Prayer for Owen Meany' by John Irving, and, most recently 'Peace Like a River' by Leif Enger.
If you are familiar with the above books, you might know that they have strong Judeo-Christian themes...likely the reason why they appeal to me. I am also deeply committed to my faith in Jesus Christ.
I love cooking just about everything. I have a lot of experience baking because I love sweets and almost never met a cookie or cake recipe I didn't want to try.
I'm 'famous' for making Bon Appetit's Double Chocolate Torte and Chocolate Lava Cakes. I use Valrhona Bittersweet Chocolate Bars from Trader Joe's as the chocolate in these desserts. Using a fine chocolate makes a huge difference in the quality of the dessert.
My favorite restaurant is Pamplemousse in Del Mar, CA, they make stuff that I can't/won't make at home and do a great job. I also love Thyme in the Ranch, in Rancho Santa Fe, CA--the best eats and job EVER!

"This is a great recipe from Cuisine at Home (Oct 2001). While you can use possum and squirrel, I prefer the beef/chicken version myself!!!"
