I'm a retired LPN and the "Mimi" of 6 grandchildren. I love cooking for my parents, two grown sons and grandpun'kins. I've retired to my home town of Louisville, KY after spending the majority of my nursing career and raising my sons in southwestern Ohio.

I dearly love pork chops. I think I could have pork chops for supper every night and not tire of them. I do miss my grandmother's fried pork chops.
My specialties in the kitchen are breads and pastries. My "famous" dish for my family is a "Bohemian Braid" - the original recipe came out of an old Betty Crocker Cookbook. It's a beautiful and festive fruited yeast bread.
My grandchildren vote "Mimi's Lasagna" and "Mimi's Collards" (Yes, my 1 y/o to 6 y/o grandchildren LOVE my collard greens!) as my best dishes. My oldest son says it is just not Christmas or Thanksgiving without my broccoli casserole.
My favorite restaurant is the Come Back Inn on the riverfront in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Awesome Italian-American pub and both of my sons are in the kitchen cooking up magic there. Try their version of a "Kentucky Hot Brown" - mere words don't do it justice!
