    About Me

    I'm a Midwesterner transplanted from Michigan, to the Deep South, then here to the Center of the US. I love to cook and am pretty much self-taught (okay, PBS-taught). I have been budget cooking since college, and freezer cooking for several years. I keep meal plans, and find that sometimes I plan a whole month at a time!

    Love my kitchen appliances, like my crock pots, but love to revert to hands-on cooking, using my pots, knives, graters, etc.  Food is tactile, and there's something very down-to-earth about basic cooking to me.

    I have a DH and two boys with hollow legs (oldest entering the Army next month). We enjoy a traditional lifestyle.

    Favorite Foods

    Chocolate, cheese, whatever I *shouldn't* have. We do eat healthfully: lean protein (beef, poultry, fish with scales), vegs, whole grains, legumes. We try not to eat junk food (shhh....I still indulge).
