Hello there! Thanks for coming to my page :) My name's Annika and I came into this wonderful world on November 13th, 1998. If my calculations are correct, that would make me 13 years of age :) Me and my 3 siblings are home schooled. Marilyn is 11, Joshua is 9, and Elijah is 6. I've been interested in cooking for as long as I can remember, and I'm sure I'll stay interested in it. While cooking and developing recipes are my main hobbies, I also enjoy knitting, reading, and walking :)
I'm the host of the Recipe & Picture Match Game. Come check us out! :)
I currently have very short hair, and I get judged for it a lot. But, I like it and that's what matters.
I'm also not a vegetarian, but I cook all vegetarian. I only prepare meat when we have guests or when it's a special occasion.
I have a lot of knowledge in the culinary world an I love to put it to use! I learned most of it from my favorite show, Good Eats with Alton Brown. He is my favorite "celebrity", and October 13th 2011 was one of the best days of my life. Why? He held a book signing in my town, and I went. He did a question and answer thing, and I was in the very front row. Sitting six feet away from Mr. Brown was pretty cool. He called on me to ask a question, and it meant a lot to me. Here are a couple of pictures that we took :)

Because of Good Eats, I'm not just into cooking, I'm into the science behind cooking. Such as, "Why does water only boil over if you add something to the water?" or "Why is bread chewy?" That's what I truly love.
How I rate:
5 stars = Best Food ever!!
4 stars = Really good
3 stars = Its ok, but I wont make it again
2 stars = I didn't like it
1 star = It was terrible. I must've messed up somewhere
I'm not picky whatsoever, although, there are a few foods that I can't stand.
Peanut Butter
Trix Cereal
Goat Cheese
And that's IT. If someone put a chocolate covered cricket in front of me, I would probably eat it. Probably is the keyword there. ;)
Also, most of the recipes that I post are recipes that I've developed. If not, they're family recipes(:
My signature dish is my Brown Rice Risotto, which is always evolving and changing. If you try it, please review and tell me how I can make it better. :)
But as far as my favorite foods go, wow. I don't even know where to start.......... Well, all vegetables, and most fruits. Oh, and cheese! No, not Kraft Cheddar, or Velveeta, but Cheese's like Reserve Gouda, Amish Blue Cheese, and Italian Fontina. Tasty! Garlic is one of my favorites for sure! If the recipe calls for one clove, I put in four. Haha! Oh, and you can't have garlic without onions! I put onions and garlic in almost everything. My favorite spice is, without a doubt, cumin. Yumm! I also like Caramel Sea Salt Ice Cream. I make Indian Style food a lot, so Indian food is my favorite type of food. My favorite dish is the veggie korma from my local Indian restaurant. As long as it's mild!
I love it all!
