    About Me

    Hi!  My name is Sami.  My amazing husband, Jack, and I have been married for 15 years and we have a 12 year old son and a 8 year old daughter.  We all love to cook and to eat!

    I make/sell stationery, work part-time, and am learning about photography.  I'm also a Stanford business school podcast junkie.  My husband does community development work and travels frequently. We love scheming about how to make the world a better place and sometimes I get to go on adventures with him! We've spent some time in India and Cambodia and most recently, China!  My husband took the picture of me above while we were eating red ants in a restaurant in Cambodia!  Laughing

    I love the Recipezaar community!!!  My cooking has really branched out and improved significantly since joining up here!

    Favorite Foods

    We LOVE asian food!  Barbecue is also one of my favorites and my husband loves soup, pasta & fresh bread.  We love breakfast and try to make a big one once a weekend.  We typically have berry crepes every other weekend and the weekends in between we do something like omelets or skillet breakfasts.

    Locally, we love a little Thai restaurant, Noodle Alley, and a couple of Chinese restaurants, Taste of Asia and China House, and Fiesta Tapatia, a Mexican restaurant.  Getting to know the owners or the people who run the restaurants is part of the experience for us and makes eating at each place fun.  We also eat at Mancino's for our Friday pizza/movie night often.  We've tried hard to cut out most fast food, but we've made Chick-fil-a an exception.  Big Bowl in Chicago is a favorite restaurant of ours as my husband & I had our first date there, so we have fun taking a trek to Chicago just to eat there once in a great while.
