I wish the powers that be would realize that NOT EVERYBODY has access to high-speed internet. Some of us are reduced to lower speeds. I use a Sprint air card and it could be worse.....I could have to use dial-up. It is so frustrating when all of the background hogs, i.e., ads, shopping sites, surveys, etc. are all on a rant and you can't even get the site to work. In order to save my sanity (and my hair from all the pulling), I've started putting recipes that I want to re-use into word processing documents. It certainly has taken all of the fun out of the old Recipezaar. Call me old-fashioned and grumpy, but I don't come here to shop, give surveys or any of that other nonsense. I come here to find recipes, advice, and inspiration from other foodies.
I am leaving the previous paragraph because there is such a huge difference in the web site when you have access to high speed internet. Since moving to Huntsville and now in the city limits, Food.com is much nicer to use. The old Recipezaar worked well on slower speeds because it wasn't so interactive. But, since Food Network is all about the money, I guess this is the way it's going to be. I still really miss the folksy family feel that Recipezaar used to have.
