    About Me

I love to cook, and I love to try new things whenever I can. I have two beagles who are my furry little floor cleaners, and a wonderful husband (as of 8/16/07!) who has a very talkative 10 year old daughter. She loves to help me in the kitchen when she's at our house, no matter what I'm making.
I am a runner, this year I'm running almost every 5k and 10k I can find, next year I'm hoping to do a couple half marathons. When I search for healthy recipes, I try to find a good carb-protien balance. When I search for something that just sounds good, anything goes!
My favorite cookbooks are my mom's old church cookbooks I learned to cook from when I was a child. You can always tell the pages the good recipes are on, they're stained and dirty!

    Favorite Foods

I love to cook about anything, my favorite recipes though are crockpot recipes; the easier the better! I don't mind putting in a lot of time/effort with a recipe, as long as it pays off in the end.
I love good wine too, and go to a couple wine tastings a month looking for a new one. My favorites right now are most Edelweiss and Vignoles, and Yellow Tail Pinot Noir. Hermann, MO is a great little Midwest wine town with several vineyards and wineries, great place to go on a wine trip. They have Oktoberfest every weekend in October.
I think my husband married me because with in the first year of dating, I made him homemade chicken noodle soup with homemade noodles, runzas (er, for those not from the midwest, I think they're called bierocks), and every other recipe I had in my arsenal. Every other woman he'd known was a take it out of a box and heat it up kind of cook. I put a good 20 pounds on the both of us, but that's ok.
My favorite restaurant is probably Subway, just for the health factor. I also love Chinese, Mexican, Italian, and American food.
