    About Me

Hi! I come by cooking and baking naturally. I grew up in a home where every dish was made from scratch, right down to the sliced bread at every meal. I pretty much learned by watching since the kitchen was my mom's domain. Once I was out on my own, I cracked open those cookbooks and went at it!

Since finding this site, I rarely use a cookbook anymore and have enjoyed every minute and every recipe I've tried. I've learned a lot here, but still consider myself a traditional cook and baker. I try to adjust most recipes for a healthier lifestyle without compromising taste and quality. Most of the time I'm lucky, sometimes not.

I won't ever rate a recipe less than 3 stars. I believe if you can't say something nice or constructive, don't say anything at all! I'm pretty good at reading recipes and know what would work for us, so most reviews are 4 or 5 star ratings.

I have 2 kids (22 and 24) who are very picky and one husband who will try most anything and tell me it's great! I recently "retired" from my position as a middle school Literature/Langauge Arts teacher, so now I have more time to roll around in the kitchen! I tend to lean towards easy, quick and healthy meals, but I'm not afraid of digging into more difficult recipes.

Below are photos I've taken of some of my favorite recipes found on Recipezaar:

    Favorite Foods

I'm not really known for any special dish. Rather, I'm better known for rarely making the same dish twice! Life is too short not to try new things...all the time. :)

I adore chocolate anything. I think it should be a food group in itself. I also love spicy foods like Mexican and Italian dishes. It's wonderful to have so many fabulous recipes right here on one site!
