Southwest Missouri
I moved from the central valley of California to southwest Missouri just three weeks before the "great ice storm of 2007". Despite being without power for twelve days, we are enjoying the Midwest very much though we miss our family and try to visit them often in California.
I am married to a police officer and worked as a television writer/reporter until starting our family. I now stay home and sell Pampered Chef part-time and sometimes find freelance journalism opportunities.
Our oldest daughter, Nicole, just turned four and became a big sister on September 22, 2008. She is the best sister I could have imagined.
She loves helping me with the baby and also loves helping me cook. She definitely has her mommy's (and daddy's) sweet tooth!
Our newest addition, Allyson, is just experiencing food for the first time. So far she's not impressed. We've tried baby cereal, carrots, and peas but she looks at me as though I'm feeding her battery acid. It's funny and very messy at the same time. I'm sure she'll get the hang of it soon!

I enjoy traveling and had the opportunity to spend a year in Cambodia working at an orphanage on the Gulf of Thailand. This experience introduced me to southeast Asian cooking which I have loved ever since. I also love traveling to the east coast...especially New York City where my husband and I spent our honeymoon and first anniversary.
I also enjoy swimming, horseback riding, scuba diving, going to movies and spending time with my family. I especially enjoy cooking for family and friends.
I love Thai food and like to make massaman curry, pineapple beef, garlic chicken and lemon grass soup. I have a few favorite Thai restaurants in different cities where I've lived.
My husband and his fellow officers in California loved my calzone. I have yet to make it for the guys here in Missouri. Thanks to Zaar, I have plenty of great recipes to feed them!
