    About Me

I am a mother of three precious children and I'm very happily married to a man who loves my cooking! Cooking for me is a creative, therapeutic outlet.

I consider my cooking style ,Southern/Ethnic. My mom is a  southerner who grew up eating biscuits and grits, and my dad is an Armenian man who loves to try different things; I learned different cooking styles from both of them. I really love to eat, read, dance (I bellydance as a hobby),and learn. I am a freelance writer, and I love it. It allows me to stay home and raise my children, which is very important to me.

Lately I have gotten into OAMC ( once a month cooking). I LOVE the freedom of being able to just pull something out of the freezer for dinner.
My favorite cookbook is this really strange one I got from a yardsale years ago. It is kind of a healthy cookbook geared for kids, so the foods are simple and non-fussy. I have probably made everything in the book! I also have several Greek, Moroccan, and Middle Eastern cookbooks that I love, as well as a lot of those old-school church/fundraiser cookbooks that look like they were hand typed. I have found some real gems in those kinds of cookbooks.

We eat a lot of soup and one-dish meals. This is not only because we are a family of five, but because there is just something so wonderfully homey about ladling out a bowl of something warm, and dipping hunks of bread into it. When I cook, I enjoy seasonal cooking, but I can pretty much eat Fall/Autumn flavors anytime of the year. My husband thinks it's funny when I am baking pumpkin bread in July.

I only post recipes that I am 100 % sure are not duplicated, or that I think are unique. Most of the time I go to post a new recipe on food.com, only to find several versions of it. Cry So mostly, I review recipes, and if I do not like a recipe I will not give it any stars. I think it is unfair to give low stars to a recipe based on opinion. I WILL give low stars to a recipe that is faulty or if ingredients are missing. I do try about two or three new recipes a month, and most of the time we try five star recipes!

    Favorite Foods

I am NOT into gourmet food. When I wanna eat, I wanna EAT! I love casseroles, pot roast, crock pot cooking, and anything meaty and cheesy. I have a Taurus moon which means I am a homebody who can think of nothing better than hanging out eating a big bowl of comfort food. I also like to try a lot of different foods. I really love Middle Eastern and Greek food.
Thanks for sharing your recipes with me!
