I am a thirty-something wife who loves to cook. I came by my passion for cooking honestly, as my father loves to cook. He actually wanted to attend cooking school at one time. He and I started cooking together when I wasa little girl. I remeber being 5 or 6 and making our first batch of No Bake Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies in the kitchen of our home. I still can visualize it now when I think back .
My passion now is for trying new recipes and decorating cakes. Unfortunately, my full time job prohibits me from doing either as much as I would like. In addition to cooking/baking, I love to read. I am currently working my way through the New York Times top 100 books of all time. It's one of those Bucket List items for me. I would love to write a book, too.
I collect ornaments for our Christmas tree, Willow Tree figurines and Noritake China in the Melrose 6002 pattern. I first aquired some of this china at a garage sale 25 years ago for $5 for 20 pieces. I found out 10 years later that it was worth 20 times that much. Since then, my husband has scoured the internet finding the pieces that my collection lacks.
Other than all of that, I am happily married to my best friend, Danny. We have been married 5 years. We own a small house, which has been over-taken by our two dogs, Shelby and Kateland. Shelby is a 13-year-old Saint Bernard and Kateland is a 11-year-old Daschund who thinks she is a Saint Bernard. We hope to add a baby into the mix next year, God willing.
My favorite foods are anything homemade. I love Italian, and Comfortt foods. Growing up my favorite meal was Spaghetti, and now i would say it is the same - just "grown up" Spaghetti. You know with all the good veggies and such that most kids don't enjoy. I bake cakes, but they are not my preferred dessert of choice. I like cookies the best, bite-sized and mobile. Classic Chocolate Chip will always hit the spot, but a good Peanut Butter is always welcome.
I am famous for finding the most bizarre recipes on the internet and trying them. I don't ever tell my "guinea pigs" all the ingredients until they are done consuming and like the dish.
