born in WV I spent 3 years in Thailand and had the opertunity to cook there.I spent the next 28 yrs in the Fl Keys going from dishwasher to chef my last 12 yrs, owner of a Tiki bar and restraunt on the ocean serving everything on homemade bread. I finished my career as patissier then garde-manger.I am disabled and I enjoy and seek out these kind of forums to share in my cooking interest.I have always enjoyed The Inchanted Broccoli Forest by Moli Katz,Moose Wood Restraunt series.I enjoy reading everything,IN LARGE PRINT,now.lol. Im a Unitarian Universalist and active in my church.I have little use for people who give up or give in to life.
I most enjoy Thai cuisine. However from all my cooking experiance I prefere to sit down to a bowl of pinto beans&ham hocks, buttered potatoes, corn bread with bacon cooked on the bottom and cucumber salad.I had it at the age of 12 and I had it last week.Yum.I am most famous for a carrot cake which has been eaten by 2 Presidents and several Vice and a few movie stars.I have 2 write ups in Gormet for best pizza in S.FL 2 years in a row. My favorite restraunt is The Cheesecake Factory in Miami. In season, I crave the pumpkin cheesecake.I look forward to this forum as this is my joy.God Bless, HotPepperIV
