Sometimes though, I just want to eat some good American types of food like a juicy steak, chicken and dumplings, or Carolina BBQ on a hamburger bun with coleslaw. I'll be posting a variety of recipes for people to try and enjoy. If I don't really like something I've tried, I won't be rating it, as I believe that tastes are subjective and so it wouldn't really be fair.
I've really enjoyed recipezaar--there are some fantastic cooks here with some great recipes and everyone tries to be so helpful!
My latest favorite cookbooks are "From the Lands of Figs and Olives", "Iraqi Family Cookbook From Mosul to America", and "Recipes from Basque Restaurants of the West".
My chef's name is in honor of our wonderful dog Toto. She was a seven year old rescued dog that we had for seven years, until we had to put her to sleep in 2008 due to a heart condition.
