    About Me

Well, first of all, I am Echo Echo's sister, a longtime chef on Zaar. We live in Maine and just love it. My husband & I live in a coastal town where he fishes virtually every day of the fishing season after his workday. We each have our individual work as psychologists, and we also have recently begun our own little real estate investment business, Kingfisher Properties, named after the cove on which we live. Instead of children we have cats - a common love, judging from the names and bios of other chefs. Presently, only one: Kiri, but as mourning for our wondercat, Pu, completes, we begin to dream of kittens. Our other dream very much in process is the treehouse DH is building on our property.

1/17/08 New arrivals: two kittens - a tiny gray and white kitten we named Miette (French for a small, sweet thing) and a part Maine coon longhair tiger we named Babette - a wild thing, makes my heart sing.

    Favorite Foods

I love A-vegetables: asparagus, avocado (ok, so it's really a fruit) and artichoke, especially artichoke. I'm fond of virtually all vegetables. I think my best dishes are soups and stews - I like to do big batches and freeze a few quarts for easy reheating over the winter. We eat everything - utterly carnivorous, except organ meats - but especially love fish and lamb. I endeavor to keep our family nutrition well-balanced, as my DH would endlessly eat chili, baked beans, microwave popcorn, chips and salsa, and jerky left on his own. We're not big on desserts, good thing as it seems I am not meant to bake. My poor, patient sister has even been rattled, trying to teach me to make her "no-fail pie crust".
