I'm a stay at home mom to a 6 year old and a 3 year old, and have been married to the love of my life since August 2002. I was born in Milwaukee, WI and spent some time in my husband's hometown of Peoria, IL before we moved to St. Louis, MO. After spending 5 years in Austin, TX (which is a great place, but definitely a change from what we were used to...), we're back in STL and enjoying every moment of it!
One of my favorite food-related activities is cake decorating. Some of my best childhood memories involve the handmade cakes that my Grandma made for me, and I am now proud to be carrying on the tradition with my own children. My favorite (easy!) method to get great results is using frozen buttercream transfers. So far, I've made cakes featuring My Little Pony, Princesses, Powerpuff Girls, Snoopy, Mickey Mouse (x2!), and STL Cardinals.
Thank you for stopping by my page! :-)
My favorite foods are tacos, pizza, toasted ravioli (the authentic STL kind), and all kinds of cookies. YUM!
I'm not too picky when it comes to food. Mushrooms, lima beans, and black olives are the main items on my "there's no way I'm going to eat that" list. However, if I'm given something with mushrooms and/or black olives on it, I'll just pick around them or take them off.
I love all kinds of different restaurants. Unfortunately, there's not always money available to eat out. That's why I'm really grateful for the internet and websites like RecipeZaar - I can create great dishes at home by myself!!!
I *love* the roasted beef sandwiches at Lion's Choice in STL. Lately I've been dreaming about the garlic bread from Mama Mia's in Milwaukee, craving cheese curds, and toying with the idea of trying out a Kringle recipe like I remember having when I was growing up.
