    About Me

I am a Christian and as old as dirt...LOL I live on the beautiful MS Gulf Coast. We lost our home to Katrina but we are in our new place now,,on the same property...so we are doing fine..I have three cats,,a dog, and a DH who used to be a singer for years in a band...now he is a contractor. I raised Cairn Terriers, made handbuilt pottery and sold on eBay for years..I was one of the first sellers on there.. I love to collect Church cookbooks,,or community cookbooks...and that is my life..my DH is much more interesting than I am...LOL

I like to cook but I am a plain and simple cook...Southern style....I just bought a kitchen Aid Mixer and bread machine though beacause we both have high blood pressure (My DH and me) and I can't find a low sodium bread as low as we need to go and it looks like I will be making a low of made from scratch foods from now on. We got rid of all boxes, cans, except no salt,,,,and jars like pickels, olives, etc.

    Favorite Foods

I love potatoes in any form,,,all veggies but I can no longer have beets,,which I dearly love...they have too much sodium as does celery..imagine! I love all meats and all friuts... I love soups in the Winter and salads in the Summer. Most of the recipes on the MS Gulf Coast start with onion, celery, green pepper,,we call it the HOly Trinity of cooking down here....

I miss some of the local Seafood resturaants and steak houses that are gone forever now.....A lot of our favorite small resturants got blown off the map by Hurricane Katrina..hopefully some will rebuild soon. It will be hard to eat out though, having to watch th sodium content so much.

I think my brownies and my chicken and dumplings or my Chicken and dressing, weould be the dishes, people would say they like the best....I make good "empty the refrigerator" soups too...oh, and my tomato gravy...maybe I will tell you my secret ingredient!
