    About Me

    Olives

Don't forget to KISS the cook!! :D

I love to experiment with food. My youngest brother Aaron is an aspiring restauranteur and between the two of us we really have some great meals at the holidays. I love bold flavors. I love to cook and find it especially pleasing when I have someone special to cook for. That someone is my BF Tim. The best way to a man's heart is through his stomach afterall. I love foods like smoked gouda cheese, olives, french onion soup, pine nuts, capers, etc. My favorite wines are Gwurtztraminer, Pinot Noir, Beaujolais Nouveau, Riesling, Pinot Grigio, Merlot, and Shiraz.

I also enjoy crafting in general. I love to knit and do so nearly every day. I have suffered from arthritis since I was 14 and taught myself to knit to keep my hands moving, now I find myself addicted to it. I also love making gifts using photographs, decopage, painting, woodworking, making bath salts, soap, bat teas, bath bombs, etc. Some recipes are here on Zaar.

I have a love for animals and am a sucker for a stray. I have 6 cats, a dog and a fish. Most of my cats are strays that I rehabilitated. I had 2 tree frogs until March of 2009 when they both died unexpectedly a week apart from one another. So you won't find any frog leg recipes in my cookbooks. :D

It would probably be a shorter list of foods I don't like (i.e. raw...aside from fruits/veggies, creamed corn, anchovies, corned beef-but I love sauerkraut, lol!)
I really love bold flavors: smoked gouda, goat cheese, rainier cherries, cilantro, dill, basil, pepper, asparagus, artichokes, olives of all kinds, french-onion-soup, capers, pine nuts, sundried tomatoes...
