    About Me

I am a fourth generation Angeleno -- born in Los Angeles -- and not Hispanic. I come from a very Catholic and very spiritual family. I have worked in one form of ministry or another most of my life. I cook for pleasure and relaxation. Now that I live alone, I have to be creative about finding audiences for my creations -- yes, creations, I adapt recipes to suite my whim, people's food needs, what I have available, what I feel like eating, what I'm allergic to, etc.

    Favorite Foods

I would have to say my favorite foods vary from season to season and time to time. Currently I'm into Mexican cooking and healthy recipes for traditional homestyle comfort foods. I do have some particular favorites, like peaches, fresh spinach (don't bring that canned stuff around!), lemon, cinnamon, spiced rooibos tea, pumpkin pie spices generally, mace for baking, cilantro, shrimp, frozen peas (sweet and crunchy), my sister Sue's cookies, Thai and other Asian foods, and the smell of something good cooking when I walk in the door.
